Klaus Hoppe

Klaus Hoppe is a facilitator working with municipalities on climate change management and integrated city planning processes. Topics include sustainable urban development, Smart Cities, cooperation with the science and research community and practitioners. Previously, Klaus was the head of the Energy Department and before that the Deputy Operations Manager Waste Management, City of Freiburg. He is a geographer with focus on urban planning.

His current work focus on:

  • Integrated urban development, climate change management, neighbourhood approaches, waste management and the circular economy
  • Development and supervision of sustainability strategies for municipal authorities, businesses and institutes
  • Project management and development in international cooperation
  • Moderation of conferences and workshops
